Marţi, 4 iulie

A participat la slujba de Te Deum pentru deschiderea lucrărilor Sfântului Sinod al Bisericii Ortodoxe Române, în Catedrala Patriarhală.

A prezidat şedinţa de lucru a Sfântului Sinod al Bisericii Ortodoxe Române în Sala Sfântului Sinod din Reşedinţa Patriarhală.

Preafericitul Părinte Patriarh Daniel a sfinţit racla cu un fragment din moaştele Sfântului Cuvios Antonie cel Mare pentru Parohia „Sfântul Anton” – Curtea Veche din Bucureşti. Slujba a fost săvârșită în Salonul Sfinților Români din Reşedința Patriarhală, în prezența membrilor Sfântului Sinod al Bisericii Ortodoxe Române. Moaştele Sfântului Cuvios Antonie cel Mare au fost aduse în România de Înalt­preasfințitul Părinte Iosif, Mitropolitul ortodox român al Europei Occidentale și Meridionale, de la Biserica „Saint-Antoine-l’Abbaye”, din localitatea L’Abbaye de Saint-Antoine, de lângă orașul francez Grenoble, urmare solicitării Preafericitului Părinte Patriarh Daniel adresate Episcopului romano-catolic de Grenoble, Guy de Kerimel.

 

Miercuri, 5 iulie

Înainte de reluarea şedinţei de lucru a Sfântului Sinod, Întâistătătorul Bisericii noastre şi ierarhii Sfântului Sinod al Bisericii Ortodoxe Române au vizitat Parcul „Grădina Maicii Domnului” al Reşedinţei Patriarhale. Ierarhii au făcut un prim popas la Troiţa „Izvorul Tămăduirii”, unde au cântat troparul „Apărătoare Doamnă”. Troiţa „Izvorul Tămăduirii” este prevăzută şi cu un izvor de unde se alimentează vasele pentru Agheasmă. În continuare, Patriarhul României, însoţit de membrii Sfântului Sinod, a vizitat „Popasul Justinian Patriarhul (1948-1977)”, locul în care, adesea, vrednicul de pomenire Patriarh Justinian acorda audienţe după-amiaza. În acest loc, ierarhii au cântat „Veşnica pomenire” şi s-au rugat pentru odihna sufletului vrednicului de pomenire Patriarh Justinian Marina. S-a mers apoi pe Aleea „Justinian Patriarhul” până la Troiţa „Buna Vestire”, unde ierarhii au intonat troparul „Născătoare de Dumnezeu, Fecioară, bucură-te!”.

A prezidat şedinţa de lucru a Sfântului Sinod al Bisericii Ortodoxe Române, în Sala Sfântului Sinod din Reşedinţa Patriarhală.

A primit în audienţă pe părintele protosinghel Ioan Meiu, preot slujitor şi ghid al Reprezentanţei Patriarhiei Române la Locurile Sfinte.

A adresat un mesaj de condoleanţe, intitulat: „Un bun gospodar al judeţului Ilfov, un om înțelept, cu dragoste de Dumnezeu şi Biserica Sa”, la slujba de înmormântare a domnului Teodor Filipescu (1942- 2017), fost prefect al județului Ilfov, în perioada 2001-2004, şi senator, în legislatura 2004-2008.

În ziua de pomenire a Sfântului Slăvit Proroc Ilie Tesviteanul, Preafericitul Părinte Patriarh Daniel a săvârşit Sfânta Liturghie şi a rostit cuvânt de învăţătură în Paraclisul cu hramurile „Sfântul Ierarh Grigorie Luminătorul, Sfântul Proroc Ilie Tesviteanul şi Sfântul Cuvios Daniil Sihastrul” din Reşedinţa Patriarhală.

Sfânta Liturghie a fost precedată de o slujbă de binecuvântare a lucrărilor de înfrumuseţare şi reînnoire a paraclisului.

 

Sâmbătă, 22 iulie

În ziua de 22 iulie 2017, Preafericitul Părinte Patriarh Daniel a sărbătorit împlinirea a 66 de ani de viaţă.

Cu acest prilej, Preafericirea Sa a participat, în Paraclisul istoric „Sfântul Mare Mucenic Gheorghe” din Reşedinţa Patriarhală, la slujba de Te Deum, prin care s-a adus mulţumire lui Dumnezeu pentru binefacerile revărsate asupra Bisericii Ortodoxe Române, poporului român şi Preafericirii Sale. Slujba a fost săvârşită de Preasfinţitul Părinte Varlaam Ploieşteanul, Episcop-vicar patriarhal, care, la final, a rostit un cuvânt de felicitare.

Domnul Victor Opaschi, secretar de stat pentru culte, prezent la eveniment, a adresat, de asemenea, un cuvânt de felicitare în care a evidenţiat câteva dintre cele mai importante realizări ale Patriarhului României.

În cuvântul adresat cu acest prilej, Preafericitul Părinte Patriarh Daniel a subliniat că ziua de naştere reprezintă un popas duhovnicesc de mulţumire adusă lui Dumnezeu, dar şi de pomenire cu respect şi recunoştinţă a celor prin care Dumnezeu a lucrat în viaţa noastră. Preafericirea Sa a vorbit, de asemenea, despre importanţa rugăciunii şi rolul acesteia în unitatea Bisericii.

A adresat un mesaj de condoleanţe, având titlul: „Bun chivernisitor al bunurilor bisericești”, la slujba de înmormântare a părintelui Florin Miron (1939-2017), preot pensionar îmbisericit la Parohia Teșila I, Protoieria Câmpina.

Luni, 24 iulie

A primit la Reşedinţa Patriarhală un grup de pelerini romano-catolici din Termoli, Italia, condus de Excelenţa Sa Monseniorul Gianfranco de Luca, Episcopul de Termoli-Larina.

În cuvântul rostit cu acest prilej, Preafericitul Părinte Patriarh Daniel a apreciat prezenţa pelerinilor italieni în ţara noastră şi a evidenţiat ajutorul acordat de Episcopul Gianfranco de Luca comunităţii ortodoxe româneşti de la Termoli. În semn de mulţumire, Preafericirea Sa a dăruit Episcopului de Termoli-Larina o icoană a Sfântului Apostol Andrei, Ocrotitorul României, şi o cruce pectorală, iar pelerinilor broşuri despre Catedrala Patriarhală, despre pelerinaj şi câte o iconiţă a Sfântului Cuvios Dimitrie cel Nou, Ocrotitorul Bucureştilor. Monseniorul Gianfranco de Luca a dăruit Patriarhului României un fragment din moaştele Sfântului Apostol Timotei, care se află în Termoli.

 

Marţi, 25 iulie

A primit la Reşedinţa Patriarhală o delegaţie a Federaţiei Comunităţilor Evreieşti din România, condusă de domnul Aurel Vainer, preşedintele acesteia.

Miercuri, 9 august

A înmânat 20 de aparate medicale pentru uz pediatric reprezentanţilor a 20 de unităţi medicale din ţară. Aparatura medicală a fost achiziţionată din fondurile colectate de voluntarii Paraclisului Catedralei Mântuirii Neamului, sub îndrumarea Pcuv. arhim. Ciprian Grădinaru, selecţia unităţilor medicale fiind realizată pe baza datelor statistice oferite de Ministerul Sănătăţii.

La finalul acestui eveniment, care a avut loc în Sala „Europa Christiana” a Palatului Patriarhiei, Preafericitul Părinte Patriarh Daniel a evidenţiat că această investiţie este foarte necesară pentru unităţile medicale şi pentru copii, felicitând, în acelaşi timp, strădania şi dărnicia celor care au contribuit la achiziţionarea dispozitivelor medicale.

A adresat un mesaj de binecuvântare, având titlul: „Tinerii sunt binecuvântare pentru familie, Biserică şi societate”, cu ocazia Întâlnirii Europene a tinerilor credincioși ai Bisericii Ortodoxe Armene, organizată la Bucureşti şi Suceava, în perioada 9-14 august 2017.

Vizita a fost prilejuită de Întâlnirea Europeană a Tinerilor Ortodocşi ai Bisericii Ortodoxe Armene de la Bucureşti şi Suceava (9-14 august 2017).

A primit la Reşedinţa Patriarhală pe Înaltpreasfinţitul Părinte Teofan, Mitropolitul Moldovei şi Bucovinei, şi pe Înaltprea­sfinţitul Părinte Iosif, Mitropolitul ortodox român al Europei Occidentale şi Meridionale.

A hirotesit duhovnici şapte preoţi din Arhiepiscopia Bucureştilor, în Paraclisul istoric „Sfântul Mare Mucenic Gheorghe” din Reşedinţa Patriarhală.

 

În cuvântul adresat, Preafericitul Părinte Patriarh Daniel a subliniat responsabilitatea mare şi sfântă a părintelui duhovnicesc.

A primit în audienţă pe doamna Angela Ciobănescu din Bucureşti, în vârstă de 86 de ani, fiică de preot, hirotonit de vrednicul de pomenire Patriarh Nicodim Munteanu.

Împreună cu Preafericirea Sa a slujit Preasfinţitul Părinte Varlaam Ploieşteanul, Episcop-vicar patriarhal, înconjuraţi de un sobor de preoţi şi diaconi.

Participated in the Te Deum service for the opening of the working sessions of the Holy Synod of the Romanian ­Orthodox Church, in the Patriarchal Cathedral.
Chaired the working session of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church, held in the Holy Synod Hall in the Patriarchal Residence.
His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel blessed the chest ­containing a fragment of Saint Anthony the Great’s relics for the parish of „Saint Anton“ in Curtea Veche, Bucharest. The service was celebrated in the Hall of the Romanian Saints in the Patriarchal Residence, in the presence of members of the Holy Synod of the ­Romanian Orthodox Church. The relics of Saint ­Anthony the Great were brought to Romania by His Eminence Iosif, Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan of Western and Southern Europe from the „Saint-Antoine-l’Abbaye“ Church in L’Abbaye de Saint-Antoine, near the town of Grenoble. The relics were brought to Romania following an appeal by His Beatitude ­Patriarch Daniel addressed to the Roman-Catholic Bishop of Grenoble, Guy de Kerimel.

Wednesday, 5 July
Ahead of a continuing working session of the Holy Synod, our Church’s Primate and the hierarchs of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church visited the park „The Garden of the Theotokos“ of the Patriarchal Residence. The hierarchs made a first stop at the cross shrine of the „Life-Giving Spring“ where they chanted the troparion „To Thee, Our Champion Leader“. The Shrine of the „Life-Giving Spring“ is fitted with an actual spring where vessels are filled for the sanctification of the Holy Water. The Patriarch of Romania and the hierarchs of the Holy Synod next visited Patriarch Justinian’s Rest (1948-1977), the sitting place where people would come in the afternoon for audiences with the fondly remembered Patriarch. Here the hierarchs chanted „Memory Eternal“ and prayed for the repose of the soul of Patriarch Justinian Marina of blessed memory. The hierarchs then proceeded onto Patriarch ­Justinian’s Lane up to the cross shrine of the „Annunciation“, where they intoned the troparion „Rejoice Virgin, Theotokos!“
Patriarch Daniel chaired the working session of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church, in the Holy Synod Hall of the Patriarchal Residence.

On the feast day of the Holy and Glorious Prophet Elijah the Tishbite, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel celebrated the Holy Liturgy and gave an address in the Chapel dedicated to „The Holy Hierarch Gregory the Enlightener, the Holy Prophet Elijah the Tishbite and Saint Daniel the Hermit“ in the Patriarchal Residence.
The Holy Liturgy was preceded by a service of blessing of the works for the redecoration and renovation of the Chapel.

Saturday, 22 July
On 22 July 2017, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel celebrated his 66th anniversary.
On this occasion His Beatitude took part in the Te Deum service held in the historical Chapel of the „Holy Great Martyr George“ in the Patriarchal Residence, service which brought thanks to God for the blessings granted to the Romanian Orthodox Church, to the Romanian people and to His Beatitude. The service was celebrated by His Grace Varlaam Ploiesteanul, Patriarchal Assistant Bishop, who gave a celebratory address at the end.
Mr Victor Opaschi, State Secretary for Religious Affairs, also present at the meeting gave a celebratory speech in which he emphasised some of the most important achievements of the Patriarch of Romania.
In his address for the event, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel emphasised that birthdays represent blessed moments for bringing thanks to God, and also for remembering in reverence and gratitude all those through whom God has worked in our lives. His Beatitude also spoke about the importance of prayer and its role for the unity of the Church.
He addressed a message of condolence entitled „A worthy overseer of the assets of the Church“ for the funeral service of Father Florin Miron (1939-2017), priest emeritus attached to the Parish Tesila I, the Campina Deanery.

Monday, 24 July
He received at the Patriarchal Residence a group of Roman-Catholic pilgrims from Termoli, Italy, led by His Excellency Monsignor Gianfranco de Luca, Bishop of Termoli-Larina.
In his address for this event, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel expressed his appreciation for the presence of the Italian pilgrims in our country and emphasised the support granted by Bishop Gianfranco de Luca to the Romanian Orthodox Community in Termoli. As a sign of gratitude, His Beatitude offered an icon of the Holy Apostle Andrew, Protector of Romania, as well as a pectoral cross to the Bishop of Termoli-Larina. His Beatitude also offered to the pilgrims brochures about the Patriarchal ­Cathedral, about pilgrimage as well as small icons of Saint ­Demetrios the New, protector of Bucharest. Monsignor Gianfranco de Luca offered the Patriarch of Romania a fragment of the relics of the Holy Apostle Timothy which are kept in Termoli.

His Beatitude issued an official message entitled „An appeal to prayer, discipline and Church unity“, in which the Patriarch of Romania stated that the Church is „concerned by the confusion and sadness caused within the Church by accusations brought to certain members of the clergy for deviations from Christian morality“ and „as Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church, with great pain in our heart, we ask for the forgiveness of all the faithful for the distress caused by such public accusations“.

Wednesday, 9 August
His Beatitude offered 20 paediatric medical devices to representatives from 20 medical units in Romania. The medical equipment was purchased with funds collected by volunteers of the Cathedral of National Salvation Chapel, under the guidance of Archimandrite Ciprian Grădinaru. The medical units were selected on the basis of statistical data offered by the Ministry of Health. At the end of this event, which took place in the „Europa Christiana“ Hall of the Patriarchal Palace, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel emphasised how essential this investment is for the medical paediatric units and he congratulated those who contributed to the acquisition of the medical devices, through their diligence and altruism.
Presented a message of blessing entitled „Youth are a blessing for family, Church and society“, on the occasion of the European meeting of the young faithful of the Orthodox Armenian Church, organised in Bucharest and Suceava, between 9-14 August 2017.

He received a delegation of the Armenian Church, led by His Grace Bishop Datev Hagopian, head of the Romanian Diocese of the Armenian Church, at the Patriarchal Residence. The visit was occasioned by the European meeting of the young faithful of the Orthodox Armenian Church, organised in Bucharest and Suceava (9-14 August 2017).
At the Patriarchal Residence, His Beatitude received His Eminence Teofan, Metropolitan of Moldavia and Bucovina, and His Eminence Iosif, Romanian Orthodox Metropolitan of Western and Southern Europe.
Gave an audience to Father Matei Buliga, abbot of „Saint ­Paraskeve“ Monastery in Dobrești, Timiș County.

Friday, 11 August
Granted the special blessing to seven priests in the Archdiocese of Bucharest allowing them to hear confessions, in the historical Chapel of the „Holy Great Martyr George“ in the Patriarchal Residence.
In his address, His Beatitude Patriarch Daniel underlined the great and sacred responsibility of the father confessor.
He gave an audience to Mrs Angela Ciobănescu from Bucharest, aged 86 and the daughter of a priest who was ordained by Patriarch Nicodim Munteanu of blessed memory.
